Title: Morris/Williams completed
Post by: jeannied213 on Tuesday 27 March 12 15:00 BST (UK)
Looking for any help with this family
My grandfathers siblings (Williams from Surrey) are hard to trace I have been looking for the last 5 years so now some help if possible
I have Dorothy Daphne Gladys Williams married Ioan Arthur Morris 1931 Woking Surrey
I have found out the Dorothy passed away in 1968 in Polegate Sussex
Ioan Arthur Morris passed away in 1984 Bridgend
Now looking to see if anyone has these on their family trees that could possibly help me

Thanks for looking
Jean

Wondering if this is his birth - given the likelihood Ioan would be mistranscribed by non welsh speakers

Joan Arthur Morris registered Pontypridd district  Jul-Aug-Sep 1901
Volume 11a, page 695

Ioan A Morris appears to remarry in Carmarthen in 1969, so I wonder if he and Daphne were still together when she died?

I did wonder why she died in sussex and he in Wales  but they were according to her death certificate still married
Perhaps they were not together

Hi Jean,

Sorry but finding replying very confusing on this site! My mother is also Jean (Jeannette Anne) Williams (nee Huxtable) and my father is Stuart Rodney Williams. My mum did mention that Archibald had his daughter buried with him. I think they called her Dolcis, but I remember her name being Dulcia. I think she was married to someone by the name of Arthur. The other sister moved to the USA and married a guy called Chuck (by all accounts related to John Dillinger) and was known as Bubbles. I have a vague memory of visiting someone on the Isle of Wight. Archibald was married to Bertha Townsend I think. Information is sketchy because they split (I believe he liked to chase the ladies), and so I have minimal information about him. Mum is 81 now and it takes a bit of time to get her mind around to remembering things. It doesn't help me being the youngest either. Dad died a few years ago.

Hope that this helps and sorry if this is not relevant to you.

Best wishes,

Stuart.
