Anyone else with any unusual rarities?

Hi Gazza,
I have a bloke named Charles Greatreex in my GR tree. He's the only one on the entire site too!
Other minority names in my GR tree include: Baserga, Backe, Crall, Ducklow, Foelke (my Nan's maiden name!), Hankanen, Kingley, Louton, Manthei, Manzini, Muscott, Noding, Petrocci, Samaroo, Sheperson, Tollman, Wetnall & Woodyeats.

Some good ones there Ryan.
That is a really unusual name Greatreex. Do you have any idea of it origins?
-
No idea about it's origins I'm afraid, but I believe it's a variation of 'Greatreax', which is just as uncommon in itself!

I have a Jane Sumisden. Also Tabram, Cockys, Silva all a bit mysterious ???
Jonathan

Hi Jonathon, I like the Silva one. Did he perchance have a 1st name John ,a wooden appendage & a penchant for maps with an x on?? :)

Sadly, nothing so exciting gazza.
She with the intriguing surname is actually Susan an Ag Lab's wench from Suffolk :D

Ryan,
My mother-in-law's maiden name is Greatrex so I looked into the meaning and found there are a huge number of spellings. I think Greatrex is fairly common but don't tell my mum-in-law that ;D
This site explains the meaning but I thought it's quite disappointing. :(

Hi,
If I were to believe the LDS website I have a Benny BALCHROS in my tree. If you search for that surname on google nothing comes up (unless this posting does!). It was just a very bad transcription of BUTCHERS.

I have a single DARRETS from the 1871 census - born Co Meath, Ireland and living in Liverpool. I can't find any english-speaking people of the name - the only people with the name spelled this way seem to come from south-west France!
-
I have Incher in my family.
Tried it in Google search bar, suppose you can imagine
some of the things it came up with.

In my own direct line, Hagar and Onions are the least common, although not as rare as some already mentioned. I've just discovered a Munger for one of my cousins - never come across that before. But I nominate one of my husband's multi-ggrandfathers for the "hardest-to-fit-in-a-tax-return-form" category: Abraham Grand-Guillaume-Perrenoud-dit-le-Corbe! :o

Well that certainly ends that thread then!
Nobody could possibly beat that.
