Hi  :)

another question from me .

the address I am looking at is  Brandon, Scarthoe, Grimsby.

just that , nothing else. and that is how it is spelt  :)

the date is Feb 1933,  does anyone have any knowledge of this place, and who

was living there at that time .

Eilleen  :)

Have you tried to find any old maps of the Scarthoe area?

If Brandon was the name of a large house it maybe marked on the map

Should it be spelled "Scartho"? (Without the "e".)

Geoff Hi  :)  thank you , now I need her first name . ??? ???

Sorry, I don't have that - 1933 just happens to be the date of the Lincs directory that was a free coverdisk on a magazine a few years ago.  If you'd asked for any other date, I couldn't have answered. :)

I imagine she must have been a widow.

I've looked through Scartho* burials from 1907-40 and seen no BAXTERs.

*  At the top of each page, the vicar has written Scarthoe. :)

Geoff had nailed it down to a Mrs Baxter living at this address at the time the letter

was written ,

it will confuse me even more if it's a bloke's name  ;D
