Hi,
Hope I have managed to attach it successfully!
Line 5 is the one I am stuck on - Mary Ann Richards, Daughter. Am assuming she died but can't work out what is written in the age box - can anyone help?
Many thanks

oh, apologies, I'll try to work out how to only post a small snippet - does this work?

My guess would be 9 months.

Have you tried looking for birth or death registrations?
-
yes, can't find birth or death registration for 1910-11 or years close to those in Pembrokeshire. Must admit have not done extensive search but nothing came up when I did a quick one...was hoping to be able to make out what it said to get more definitive date!

There's a death of a Mary Ann Richards in March quarter 1908, aged 1 year, in Haverfordwest.
Ref: Haverfordwest 11a 895.
Haverfordwest registration district includes Brawdy
-
oh, I didn't go back to 1908...sounds like that could be her
thanks so much for that mauricej :-)
-
.....then this, perhaps, is her birth:-
Mary Anne Richards,
Birth March 1907 - Haverfordwest 11a 1327
-
yes, I just found that once I had the death to go on :-)
will order the certificates and see. very sad - would have been my grandfather's little sister
thanks again all,

Then why would she appear! ??? then be crossed out on the 1911 census.
I could understand if she had just died days before just before or even on the census date ~ I think the parents wouldn't have said her name out of habit unless she had just died of recent.
-
Probably just confused by the questions in the 1911 census, which asks for number of children born to this marriage and how many are still alive.
When listing their children, the deceased were included with their projected age, but there was no provision for date of death.
They did their best to provide the required information, which wasn't quite right, and was crossed out somewhere along the line. It's impossible to say if this was before or after it was handed in, but these mistakes can be an unexpected boon to researching the family.
