Hi I wonder if any one can help me to find out who the parents were for my Charlotte Munday or Monday born About 1796 West lavington or Avoncliff Wiltshire
She married Isaac Gray 1 May 1825
Charlotte died March 1872 at Bathford Bath Somerset.
Isaac Gray died 1889 at Bathford Bath
Regards Christine

Have you found her on census returns?
-
Looks like Census records is where bolton got the POB from
1851 c 1798 Avonclift, Wilts (Gray)
1861 c 1799 Bradford on Avon, Wilts (Grey)
1871 c 1799 Avenclift, Wilts (Gray)
Have you seen the actual Marriage Record bolton?
Is it possible Charlotte was a Widow?
She is several years older than Isaac on Census records.
Marriage was 1826;
Charlotte MUNDAY/Isaac GRAY, 01 May 1826, Winsley, Wiltshire
Maybe someone can look it up.
HARRIET Gray was Christened 18 July 1830, Winsley to Isaac/Charlotte
Trish :)
All the Childrens Marriages are on FreeREG, including Abels 2 Marriages.
Abel Snr was Buried 04 Jan 1890, St Swithin, Bathford, age 84 (Birth c 1806)
Charlotte was Buried 09 March 1872, same Church age 76 (Birth c 1796)

Charlotte died March 1872 at Bathford Bath Somerset.

Have you followed up on Trish's suggestions?

Hi
I have their marriage cert: but it only gives the marriage does not give their parents.
We know that Isaac parent were Priscillia and George Gray they lived at Winsley.
I go passed their house quite often!
We found out just a few days ago that Charlotte was from West Lavington,we know this for sure because their was a removal order served on them because Isaac Gray was too ill to work when they were living at Bathford Bath,Isaac was too ill to be removed back to Avoncliffe this was the last place he worked at.So they sent Charlotte away from her husband back to her home place which was West Lavington. But we cannot find a birth record for her there so was she married before to a man called Munday?or was she born somewhere else and just brought up at West Lavington Wiltshire
We may never find out!
Regards Christine
PS we known everything else about her found all the census but just don't know who her parents were.

You can't have the marriage certificate, not introduced until 1837.Are you referring to transcript on A******y or familysearch.org?
Avoncliff is part of Westwood parish,Wiltshire OPC have a clerk who will be able to help you there, but none for Winsley.
Can't see earlier marriage just now.
Is your tree one of 23 on A******y?

Bolton PM'd me as follows.
I found their marriage on IGI ancestry
They married 6 March 1825 Winsley Chapel
Isaac Gray born 1805 christened 17 Feb 1805 Murhill nr Winsley Wiltshire
His parents Priscilla and George Gray
They had 6 children all Christened at Murhill but I have never been able to find a chapel or Church at Murhill so did they just lived there and maybe had the children christened at Winsley. But it definitely says Murhill Wilts.
All. The records are so iffy but I feel that we are all so lucky to have found out what we have it been brilliant I only wish my Dad was still alive to see what I have found. Dad used to try and tell me who we were related to but back then I was not interested. But some of the folks he told me we were related to I have found he was correct.
Are you related to this family??
-
Not related.
The Gray children may have been born at Murhill but were baptised at Winsley, per IGI.
I take it the Bolton tree is yours on A********y.What evidence is there that James Munday c 1821 is the son of Charlotte? The removal order seems to show it was suspended.
Parloc shows 94 parishes, including Bathford, within 9 miles of Westwood.
Just found this,https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NKQK-XQ8
Is this the missing marriage?Dates are a little dodgy though.
-
Bolton,
On your tree you have parents for Charlotte!!!!!Or are they just speculative like James?
