Title: Link: Birtley Crematorium Online Book of Remembrance
Post by: Tickettyboo on Wednesday 10 October 12 20:57 BST (UK)
Birtley Crematorium have an online Book of Remembrance at:

http://www.remembrance-books.com/birtley/

Currently, you would have to know the date of death to be able to ascertain if there is an entry that would, perhaps, give you more info. If all you have is the quarter of the year in which they died, you would have to look at up to 90+ pages to see 'if' there is an entry for that person.

To help, I have been through all the pages and typed up a name index, showing Surname, First Name and date of the entry that does exist (as at today's date)

So if you find the name you are looking for in the name index, you can then go to the Book of Remembrance page for that date and view the entry.

CTRL F will bring up a search box so you don't have to scroll through all 11,300 names :-)

Please also bear in mind that not all families paid for an entry in the Book of Remembrance, a deceased relative may have been cremated at Birtley but not have an entry in the Book.

If anyone finds typos/errors please send me a PM so that I can correct them.

Boo
