Title: Florence Williams nee Potter

Hiya,
My Grandfather Benjamin Williams 1862-1934 married Florence Potter in Hamstead, London in 1910.
Florance was born in Gedding, Kent in 1873. Second wife, did they have any children?
All the information i really have is from the 1911 census regarding Florance.
Address is New Road Argoed, Monmouthshire.
Any help would be most welcome and I thank you in advance.

I think you mean Monmouthshire

Have you checked freebmd for Williams births in Monmouthshire with mothers maiden name Potter?

From the September qtr 1911 - mothers maiden names can be found on freebmd entries

Had Florence been previously married?  If so - births may show her maiden name - not Potter

Thanks for the mail, I know it was Monmouthshire then but Glamorgan today.
I have searched 1911-1913 no births.
I have no information that she was married before.

Given she was b 1873 - it is possible she was previously married but you would have to buy a copy of the 1910 marriage cert to confirm.  If she was a widow, her fathers name will give you her birth surname

There is a birth in 1919 in the Bedwelty RD which may be a possibility as they were living in that RD in 1911

Are you using Glamorgan as the search county instead of Monmouth?

Interesting discovery all adds to research only Florence Williams i can find a death for is in Bedwellty in 1921 but aged 21.

Would be good to get the marriage certificate which would maybe give Florence's marital status as well as her father's name and occupation.

I think it should be Yalding, Kent
