William DF Robertson was my great great grandfather. I believe he was a mariner and lived in Douglas. Does anyone have any information on him. I am new to Roots Chat and have little experience so far.

That looks correct as my great grandmother was Gertrude Mary Robertson. She then came to Austrlalia. As I don't wish to take up your time, is there a website or other research specifically for people researching ancestors from Isle of Man.

It looks like he was born in Lancashire not London.

Gertrude Mary Robertson was baptised on 27/02/1879, Braddan, Isle of Man
In 1881 she is living with her grandmother Ann Davis on the Isle of Man.
It seems maybe her mother died giving birth or shortly after.

Do you have access to Ancestry? I think you will find him on Great Britain, Masters and Mates Certificates, 1850-1927.
