Title: LEDIARD LYDIARD LIDDIARD surname
Post by: snazzyK on Saturday 17 November 12 15:02 GMT (UK)
I am trying to locate more information about my ancestors with the above surname (it is spelled in various ways) I understand that they traveled from England to st Elizabeth Jamaica.  Does anyone have a lediard in their family tree that resided in Jamaica.  Please contact me.

I know this post is old...but my great grandfather was Lediard...settled in St Elizabeth...married a cuban woman...their child was my grandmother..Agnes Lediard...she died at 100 2 years ago...

She ended up settling in manchester...where she has 5 generations spread across the country and states...

Hello Acameron and welcome to RootsChat

snazzyK has not been active on RC since 2014, but if his/her email has not changed, he/she should get a notification.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to state whether your GM Agnes settled in Manchester, Jamaica (yes there is one!) or Manchester, UK ??

Cheers
Dawn M

Thanks BillyBlue for giving A Cameron advice I was going through my emails and spotted a notification to this thread which if I had not received a notification I would definitely have missed this.

A Cameron can you tell me a bit about the parents of your grandmother that settled in St Elizabeth Jamaica.  I have an Agnes on my tree but with some of the certs back then I have a few blank ones which makes my job harder trying to decipher which one of the remaining certs may pertain to Agnes and another sibling but I do have one for a female born in Oct 1916 with no name which I wonder if it may be her?,  Going back through my notes I believe the step-mother of Agnes I may have moved to Spauldings, Manchester JA at some point as she died in Spauldings, Manchester where as her husband passed in St Elizabeth.  Does this tie in with any information you have?

Feel free to send PM if preferred and we can chat further.

Thanks
