Title: Road fatality 1953 Newcastle press?
Post by: shopbooth on Thursday 06 December 12 20:10 GMT (UK)
Hello

I have just found that my grandfather died 29 November 1953 in Wallsend in a car/pedestrian collision and was wondering if this had been reported in the local press. Does anyone know where this could be retrieved online - ideally for free!?

Percival Bagnall Booth was his name

Thanks

Can you not go to North Shields library and look it up yourself in the card collection,as you live in Durham,or telephone them and see if they have it on micro film,or check Durham archives,it wont cost you any thing,

Hi

It could have been in the Newcastle Evening Chronicle.  Newcastle City library keep microfiche copies of all evening chronicles going back to the 1800s so they may be able to help as well, :D >:( :(
