Has anyone used these software programs?
I'd be interested in hearing peoples opinions. I've downloaded Clooz at http://clooz.com/index.shtml (http://clooz.com/index.shtml) and am slowly trying to get my head around it but don't want to invest too much time if Evidentia which can be found at http://evidentia.ed4becky.net/ (http://evidentia.ed4becky.net/) would be a better option.
I use Legacy 7 as my main genealogical program and although Clooz talks to Legacy it's not particularly efficient at doing so, so in my opinion this is not a enough reason to stick with Clooz if the other program is much better
Thanks,
Sandra

Sandra, Clooz and Evidentia serve two completely different purposes. Clooz is a document management program. Evidentia is a source-centric evidence analysis program.
Evidentia allows you to analyze your evidence in context with all other evidence pertinent to the research question (and without the distraction of other evidence irrelevant to the research question) so you can reach a sound conclusion in accordance with the Genealogical Proof Standard BEFORE you put a specific event or person into your tree, which I'm not sure is on the list of capabilities for Clooz. From what I understand, Clooz takes the information AFTER it has already been entered into your tree (Legacy, Family Tree Maker, RootsMagic, etc.).
Evidentia is a stand-alone program and does not automatically take anything from, or put anything into your tree. Therefore, it is compatible with EVERY program out there, because you determine what you want in your tree and what you don't. Don't feel like you have enough evidence that Betty Sue is your 7th great grandmother? Then don't add her to your tree until you've performed that exhaustive search and reached a sound conclusion that she belongs there.
I would recommend spending some time with the free trial versions of both programs and determining whether they meet YOUR needs. For my workflow, Evidentia is perfect. It may not be for you (but I think it will). Currently, I'm using RootsMagic, GenSmarts, Evidentia, and Dropbox for my genealogy, and it works for me.
I also recommend watching the tutorial videos on the Evidentia website as well as the Google+ Hangouts on Air and webinars that DearMYRTLE hosted (with Evidentia developer Ed Thompson) discussing Evidentia and how to enter evidence and analyze it. The Google+ Hangouts on Air can be viewed from DearMYRTLE's YouTube channel and her webinars are archived on her website. I have also done several blog posts about various features in Evidentia, which can be found here.
Hope this helps!
