Title: Place of Birth Cipphill, Linlithgowshire?
Post by: Thistle76 on Sunday 20 January 13 11:34 GMT (UK)
I have just come across a relative who gives his place of birth as Cipphill, Linlithgowshire in the 1891 census. Any clues to where this might be? I think he was born in Abercorn parish, trying to work out if he is the same person.
Many thanks,
Gary

"On arriving at the Royal Burgh the party made their way by Linlithgow bridge to Manuel, where they visited the pond, the romantic glen and the canal aqueduct. They afterwards proceeded to Kipps Hill, a place made famous as being the residence of Dr Sibbald (17th Century botanist). The next place visited was Cockleroy Hill from which the party returned by Preston to Linlithgow (a ten mile journey on foot)"
