Hi,
I am searching for a burial record for Godfrey Owen, between about 1680 and 1697, probably in Old Brampton, Derbyshire or nearby. All I know about him is the following, an extract from 1697 cause papers:
"And to the Examinates knowledge one Godfrey Owen for about seaven years together left his owne wife and family, and lived with the said [A. F.] till his death in a very scandalous manner and it was the generall beleife of all the neigbours that they lived in Adultry and Incontinence"
Thanks,
Alexander

Adultry and Incontinence
How does somebody live in incontinence. Conjures up all kinds of thoughts!!

;D
I daresay this was the intended meaning of the word (from OED):
Incontinence: Want of continence or self-restraint; inability to contain or retain:
a. With reference to the bodily appetites, esp. the sexual passion: Unchastity.

There doesn't appear to be any Owen's buried at Old Brampton
But as well as Godfrey there is
Grace Oven 2.1. 1693
William son of Maria 12.3. 1698
Maria 9.6. 1702

Hi Carol,
I think that might be him. It explains why my searches for Godfrey Owen in Derbyshire turned up absolutely nothing.
Thank you!
