Hi i have found all the relevant info you gave me and fs site has been good. James dad Charles was born 1785 in alfristion son of john and mary baker .but im confused as the mum of James Ann i think her maiden name is also baker ??as she was born in lewis and ive found a marriage in 1809 in lewis between a charles baker and an ann baker could it be possible they married within the family ?

Hello michelle

I found an Ann Baker baptised at Lewes,St Michael 1788, a poor image so no Mum or Dad`s name.
There was a Samuel Baker baptised 8 May 1798,born 3 Apr 1798,son of John & Mary.
Could he be a Brother ?

Possible marriages for a John & Mary
Litlington,East Sussex
4 May 1775
John Baker
Mary Collins (Alfiston)

Brightling,East Sussex
28 Mar 1780
John Baker & Mary Newington.

King Regards
