The box on the top right says he joined the Nigeria Regiment, as a Doctor.
But then transferred to the Royal Army Medical Corp., with the rank of Captain.
The "Theatre of War" says 4C - 4 meaning Africa, C meaning Cameroon.
He was entitled to the Victory Medal, the British Medal, and the 1915 Star.
The references are to the Rolls kept at The War Office.

Some 60%-70% of WW1 service records were lost in a bombing raid in WW2!
If Ancestry doesn't show the records, then they are probably lost. :(

:'( Not so good. thanks again . will give Ancestry another look,

He's an officer so some of their records are in kew and weren't burned they aren't viewable online though.

There are no surviving service records of temporary officers in the RAMC - they are believed to have been destroyed in the 1930s.
