Title: Sarah GOULD, Shepton Mallet - Mother of Isaac Gould. born 1793 Shepton Mallett
Post by: Elizlloyd on Tuesday 05 March 13 21:18 GMT (UK)
Hi Sarah Gould is the mother of Isaac Gould born 1793 Shepton Mallet as noted on Freereg site, am keen to know the name of Sarah's husband that would be Isaac's Father.  Isaac is my Great Great Great Grandfather.

There seems to be several Gould marriages in Somerset marrying a Sarah (maiden name unknown) from 1790 to 1795.

Any help would appreciate it.

Thanks

Elizlloyd

In the absence of a fathers name he could be illegitimate  ;)

Even if Sarah did marry it doesn't necessarily mean that her husband is the father of Isaac.
With Isaac having been baptised with his mothers Surname it would be 99.9% sure that Isaac is the result of an illegitimate birth.
I found 4 marriages on FreeReg for a bride named Sarah GOULD, one in Brewham 8 miles from Shepton Mallet. This was to James GREEN on the 1st June 1803.
The others were all in Bath which is 16 miles away and they were to the following.
John THOMAS on the 27th December 1802
John DANIELS on the 26th March 1811
Thomas EDWARDS on the 24th December 1804

Hope that helps in some way

Cheers
Geoff
