I have a few McLaughlins in my tree, come from Greenock. A Michael McLaughlin married a Margaret Harper in 1891.

mclaughlan, if I can suggest... There are an awful lot of McLaughlan (and variants) in the Renfrewshire area over the years.

Why don't you post some details on some of the key families you are connected with so that people can see if they can recognise some of the details?

Sorry for the very late reply.  My McLaughlan/McLachlans lived in Port Glasgow and Greenock.  Names were Julia, Patrick/Peter, Margaret, William, Mary, Alan, Alexander, Edward, Henry and Helen.  Address's 14 Argyle Street .  Custom House lane, Ladyburn Buildings, Ardgowan Street, Dock Land St,  Adamson Buildings.  Inverkip Road,  Chalmers Street, Ropework Lane.

I have a R McLachlan  on my Grandfathers death cert who was the informant as a nephew
2 Chalmers street Greenock

My Grandmother May Cairns lived in 8 Chalmers Street in 1921 she married Alexander McLaughlan.  Have you any further details of the certificate you could share?  Thank you for your reply.

My Grandfather John Harrison according to the death cert was living 4 Chalmers st he died 1951
I have no idea who R McLachlan (nephew) is as the informant
My Grandfather remarried in 1944 to a Mary McEwan so maybe a relative on her side

John Harrison also had a brother Thomas who also lived Chalmers st
some certs i have  also mentioned 6 and 8

I'm not sure how to reply,  it's my first time on this site. My G G Grandfather's death certificate says that he died in 8 Chalmers street in Nov 1921. I'm looking for family history. His name was Alexander Harvey
