Dia daoibh uilig!
Does anybody know when the Clogher dioceses BMD records are going to be published on www.irishgenealogy.ie? Two years ago the site announced that they would be available in a matter of months. What is holding up their publication?

That is a very good question. That site only has the baptism and marriage details from church records (deaths were not recorded by churches in the same manner)
There has been radio silence on the subject for some time now and very few records for their already covered areas have been added in the last 18 months from what I can see. Lack of funds I guess?
But those of us with our roots in Monaghan have been keenly waiting for a long long time for these records to be uploaded. The wait goes on as does the trip in to the NLI to view micro films.

Thanks for taking time to reply to me! I had hoped that someone in Monaghan with links to the person in the Catholic Church who is responsible for the parish records would reply, but so far that has not happened. As you say, probably a lack of funds. Not living in Ireland, I don't have the opportunity to go to the NLI and so I life in hope!

It might be an idea to subscribe to Claire Santry's blog Irish Genealogy News http://irish-genealogy-news.blogspot.co.uk/ (http://irish-genealogy-news.blogspot.co.uk/) and look at her post on 13th April. Claire usually manages to be one of the first with any 'breaking news'.

How do you subscribe? clicking the link brings up a strange page :-\

Try this, copy & paste the previous link into your browser.
If you then put <<Monaghan>> into the search box (top left) this will bring up all of Ms Santry's posts containing references to Monaghan. There is an option to sort all the posts in <<date order>>, do this and then look for

IrishGenealogy relaunches as portal to free records
Right at the bottom of that post is this....
"As an aside: If you're still wondering what's happening to the Monaghan (Diocese of Clogher) records, there's a wee note, almost lost in the Church Records page, saying that work is still progressing on their delivery to the site. How long can it take?"
Any help?
