Hi
Does anyone know if these are on-line?
Thanks
Susie :)

Hi Susie,
The Glamorgan Family History Society doesn't have M.I.''s for St Catwgs ,Cadoxton.
But you can contact the church warden a lady called Annette Williams on 01639 770972.
She is very helpful. While I was researching my family at the church she looked up all the records that I required, some going back to 1785. Then and here's the good part whilst I was photographing the documents she went out and found the graves for me and then took me to each one . The church asks for a small donation in return but for such help I couldn't be more pleased to contribute to . I cannot give you her e-mail because the Roots chat rules don't allow it but I bet you can find it from the church website. Its a very large churchyard by the way as parts of the church date back to the 1300's
Regards
Mike

Hi Susie,
In What part of the world are you ?
I'm in South Wales about 25 mins from Cadoxton. But I'll get most of my first info from GFHS booklets then the church . I'll see if I have time to go to the reference library tomorrow and see what I can find

Hi
I also live in South Wales and am planning to visit the church and graveyard as soon as I can, what is the GFHS booklet?
Susie :)
-
Susie ,
The Glamorgan Family History Society sell booklets which cover Parish Records of individual churches.
The list Baptisms, Marriages and Burials or Deaths. The also produce booklets on Monumental
inscriptions. Most reference libraries , county archives have many of them on their shelves so you can look for what you require. Also you can log on to GFHS website (use the initials ) and you can order them by post. There isn't one for the monumental inscriptions of St CATWGS in Cadoxton. But here is what they have ;-
Cadoxton Juxta Neath St Catwgs
Baptisms 1721 to 1899,Burials 1721-1889,Marriages 1721 to 1837.
These booklets list all the entries that the history society members have found in the Parish Records
What part of South Wales are you from ? Maybe I can tell you which library has copies

Mike

Hi
I live in Port Talbot

Hi Susie,
I live near Bridgend. It's just that most of the people that I have talked to about Cadoxton come from all over the world on their family search.
There are plenty of records in the local reference library. Also there is the West Glamorgan County Archive or records office in Swansea.
In Bridgend we have a great Ref Lib next to the Registry office there is also the family history centre there. Glamorgan family history society meet at the ARC in Aberkenfig on Wednesdays between 10 and 3.30 they can be very helpful.

Mike
