Hi,

I'm trying to find Benjamin Harrington (born 1822 Church Aston) in the 1851, 1861, 1871 census.

In 1841, he was in census living at Wellington, Shropshire
In 1881, he was living in daughter Mary's household as a widower living in Lilleshall, Shropshire

Do you have a wife for Benjamin ?? there is a record for A Benjamin 28/7/1868 ( criminal record ) for larceny in Shropshire might be a different Benjamin

I don't have any details of a wife, no.

He was a coal miner is all I know about him, and he had a daughter called Mary born circa 1852 in lilleshall.

His daughter Mary Harrington, married Thomas Palin 1868 Newport Shropshire

Hi think this might be them in the 1861 census the name is down as Benjamin Marrington 38,( coal miner ) wife Mary 40,Elizabeth 14, William 12, Priscilla 8, John 4, Robert 10months also Mary .They are living Staffordshire Civil parish Tipton

1851 census Staffordshire Benjamin Arrington ( miner ) 28. wife Mary 29, Elizabeth 5, William 3, also George Malden ( nephew ) .A tree on Ancestry has Benjamin's wife down as Mary Jones

The only Mary in this family in 1861 is Benjamin's wife, where do you have Mary bn 1852  :-\

OK so she is AKA Priscilla   ;D   ;D

Only one way to find out of this is correct Benjamin, I'll send for his marriage cert (to Mary Jones, 1843 Wellington).

I know Benjamin's father was William, and he died 1827; see what marriage cert says.
