I am seeking any information on the following three people Sween Macdonald born 1836 Scotland arrived Sydney 29 /8/1854 on the ship Columbia...Margaret Macdonald born1832 Scotland arrived Sydney 1856 on the ship Stamboul... Donald Macdonald born1836 Scotland arrived Sydney 1857 on the ship Golconda , they were siblings who's passage was paid for by an older sister who emigrated earlier ... did any of the three above get married any they may have settled in Bathurst or Forbes or surrounding areas... any assistance or info will be very much appreciated.. thank you Edward ;D

Just adding for ease of research that the siblings' parents were Sween and Isabella.

Hi Edward
BMD records in Australia often include parent names so please could you let us have the parent names and name of the sister, including her married name if applicable.. Where in Scotland were they born, please? As their forenames are not unusual Scottish names do any of them have second names as well? Are there any other siblings who stayed in Scotland?
Sorry for all the questions and no answers but extra detail will be useful in eliminating those with similar names who are not the ones you seek. The traditional Scots way of naming children using parent/grandparent names is often useful, as is the common practice of using the surname of the mother in name choosing.
Is the spelling Sween correct?
Judith
Edit to add - thanks Debra!

Hi Edward,
I'm sure we have all enjoyed helping.
In regard to the other 2 siblings, is there any extra information at all?
Occupation of Donald?
Second forenames for either?
Were the siblings close in their relationship? Perhaps likely to settle in the same area ;D
Letters/documents/family stories which may help?
Sue
