I've just noticed that Ancestry appear to be offering FREE access to the 1911 Census returns for WALES, plus the Summary Books. All the other areas require a subscription.
Sorry, I can't check it out, as I already have a subscription to Ancestry. Perhaps someone who does not have a subscription would like to check it out.
Obviously this does not change the RootsChat policy of NO LOOK UP REQUESTS.

Have just been on and don't see anything ?

If you select 1911 census and then look down the list, you should see this

Thanks, Gadget - I was beginning to think I was seeing things - and it's not yet 5.00 pm, so can't blame the wine ;D

I was having a nice cup of coffee and thought I'd check :D
I wonder if they will ask non-subscribers for their credit card details.

Thanks Gadget need to put my glasses on ???

I've just got my daughter to try it out. She does not have a subscription BUT she is able to see 1881 England and 1911 Wales entries -AND she did not have to give credit/debit card numbers ;D ;D

Well done Ancestry :)
Strange or not but I rarely use Ancestry for the 1911. It was the first census where my Mother and Father showed up as infants -bless :)
(In Wales, please note!)
