Just wondering if anyone could help, trying to locate where and what Newport market was that appears on many births and marriages for my grandparents ,great grandparents and many others in their families .

Are you sure it says Newport Market, and not "Newport M"?

Newport M refers to Newport, Monmouthshire - as opposed to Newport S which refers to Newport, Shropshire ;D

The mid-1800's market was in the centre of Newport, on the riverside.
