Are you wanting William (as mentioned in the text) or George (as mentioned in the subject header)?

I'm hoping for a George son of William and Eleanor (Ellen).

I have a wild idea that my ancester George Bradbury may have changed his name from George Cross.
Just don't know how to prove it if true.

Thanks
What I have is George Bradbury born circa 1855 died 17 Mar 1924 Warwick, Queensland, Australia.
Parents on DC are William Bradbury and Ellen Cross.
Family lore has him coming over in 1874 with a possible relative William. (I'll do some searching on this)
He was in Warwick in 1882 when he married.

Noone has been able to find his birth or parents on those details.

saw that marriage on FreeBmd and then looked for a possible birth, found
Births Dec 1851 Thame 16 104
Cross    George

Marriage, December qtr 1849
Thame district    vol 16, page 241

Just looked on Ancestry, there are 10 Public Member Trees for George CROSS, son of William CROSS and Eleanor BRADBURY. None with a Death for him.

Of course, they being Public Member Trees I can't contact any of the Users who posted the Trees as I don't have a subscription to Ancestry.

This can be closed, DNA tests by my mother and myself show that we are not directly related.
