Hi
First child John Baty was christened 23 Dec. 1827, birthdate 14 Oct. 1827.
Second child Elizabeth christened 14 Sept. 1828. Lilleshall.
I think hard of hearing vicar mistook Hudson for Hodgson on the christening record of Elizabeth, and it's the same wife. Eleven months between first and second child, it's maybe too short a time for first wife to die and find someone else.
That's just my opinion though :)

I have Penshaw parish microfilm, do you want me to look up Blakeson, Margaret, James Alland and William and see who the mother is on there? That parish wrote the mother's maiden name way past the Barrington years. Won't be until tomorrow though.

Looking at the BT's for Penshaw Jonas Adam Baty was born 24 Jun 1838. You can see if you can decipher the place they were living as it looks the same as in the parish record page 533 of 804 in the Bishop Transcripts for Penshaw. The "Mason" is the father's occupation.
