Title: Henry Morrison Plymouth and Chester
Post by: LenVin on Saturday 26 July 14 08:50 BST (UK)
I have a cousin who is coming over from Australia soon and she is trying to find information about her GGGrandfather Henry. The only information we have is from the 1851 & 1861 Census. I cannot find a birth registration for Henry.

1851 census for Plymouth
William Morrison;    Visitor; married;    37;    Labourer                Essex
Edward                      “     5;          Somersetshire
Henry            “           2         Plymouth

1861 census Chester
William Morrison   Head   Widower   46   Labourer Common   Walley Essex
Henry         Son   12                                Plymouth
John G         Son   8                                Chester
Elizabeth      Dau      2                                Chester

We would also like to find the name of his mother it would appear that she died some time after the birth of Elizabeth.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Len

I was going to suggest that you send off for a birth certificate for one of the other children to get the mother´s name, but I am having trouble finding registration records for any of them so far.

There is a registration of death for a Mary Anne Morrison in the Great Boughton District maybe worth a try ...as they were in that area in the 1861 census

Thanks vronlady & Rosie17 for your thoughts.
In the 1891 census of Chester, Henry is married to Eliza b in Ireland. His birth place is now Chester.
They have 2 children b Ireland 1 b Chester and 1 b Plymouth Stoke Dameral
I believe that Eliza is Elizabeth Hall and they married in Ireland.
Their first child is Mary A so she could be named after Henry's mother which maybe the Mary Ann whose death you found.
As I said a mystery family
