I am researching BERRY family of Suffolk, please may I request a Look up of the Parish records for
John BERRY baptised 22.5.1818
Maria BERRY baptised 4.2.1816
Serjeant BERRY baptised 3.2.1822

Ancestry has John Berry born 19 Mar 1818, bapt 22 May 1818, parents Miles Berry and Frances.
Maria born 25 Dec 1815 bapt 4 Feb 1816 to same parents and Serjeant born 5 Feb 1821 and bapt 3 Feb 1822 (nearly a year later!) to same parents again.
These are transcriptions, can't see that the actual register images are on line.

Don't know whether this is related, but Ancestry has entry from Pallot's baptism index for 1803 in Woodbridge (about 11 miles from Trimley)
Sarah Berry ( Miles, mariner and Eliz. nee Lyons) no actual date just year.
Could it be same Miles and Frances was his second wife?

1851 he is down as Matthew Berry and later Census Mathias/Matthias

I do have the F/S Chrs details of Mathias BERRY but did not have the Surname of Frances (SUTTON) age and birth date from the C1851 ...

Miles's age doesn't rule him out as having a first wife and a child born / bapt in 1803 and Frances would have been in her thirties to early forties when her known 4 children were born.
Isn't Sutton where Frances was born not maiden name?

you are correct Lizzie regarding my confusion regarding maiden name SUTTON with place of France's birth...thanks for pointing this out to me.
I also like your theory regarding Frances as the second wife.

Just looked at a map of Suffolk. Ramsholt (Miles birthplace) and Sutton (Frances birthplace) are on east side of river Deben. If you were continuing on to the Trimley villages on other side of river you would have to go through Woodbridge unless there were ferries across the river then.

The Author's date of birth for John BERRY is incorrect as I have it as 19.3.1818 on F/S and the marriage of John BERRY and Honor GERKIN (Girkin) 3.12.1839.
Is there a way of contacting the Author of the post of 2007?

So if John was born 1818, it does make the Elizabeth Lyons possibility live again.
You could send the author a PM, or try replying to his post, but as he's not been active for 7 years, that may well connect to a disused email. But worth a try anyway.
On Ancestry there are several baptisms to a Mathias Berry (sometimes transcribed as Michael) and his wife Ann nee Wilson in Woodbridge at end of 1700s and begining of 1800s so contemporary with the Sarah baptised to a Miles Berry and Elizabeth Lyons. Ancestry has that baptism date as 3 Feb 1803. Given similarity in name there is possibly of a relationship.

Of course, this John (1818) was in your first post. I've found him with Honour in Poplar in 1851 with several children.
Maybe there was an earlier John who died, but the author of the other post hadn't spotted the discrepancy in ages.
