Hi,
I am looking for the above, have found the family in 1871 census living at !5 Yeats Lane, Aberdeen. Says Mary Walker born 1833 (Seaman wife), not showing a William, there is a Andrew Walker born 1870 and an Alexandrina born 1866 in Aberdeen.
Would love to hear if anyone has any information

For reference these are the 3 children as per the 1871 Census, all found on Family Search (IGI):
Alexandrina WALKER
B 11 Sep 1865 St, Nicholas, Aberdeen
Mary Bruce WALKER
B 5 Jan 1868 Aberdeen, St Nicholas, Aberdeen
Andrew Gordon WALKER
B 18 Jan 1870, St Nicholas, Aberdeen
And their mother Mary, said to be born Stonehaven, Kincardineshire.
Do you have any of them anywhere after 1871? BDM or Census? Not finding a sausage in 1881 or any other time!

Hi there,
I do not know the parents names of William Walker. The son Andrew Gordon Walker born 1870 Aberdeen married Mary Turner Walker (from Rotherham) married in 1894 reg Barnsley. Alexandrina moved to Yorkshire married a Fred Wood from Dewsbury. Not sure what happended to Mary Walker nee Bruce. Williams wife.

Hi Amanda if you get a copy of their marriage certificate for William and Mary it will give you the parent's names you will be able to view that on Scotlands People if you have not used this site before you can buy credits for £7.00 ....and it will take 6 to search and view .Was William born in Aberdeen or Dundee ?

This could be a possibility for the mother in 1901 census address hard to make out Leyland ? Road Burnley
Mary Walker b 1832 aged 69 widowed living on her own ...charwoman
Just checked other census forms don't think this is yours as she is with a son Archibald George Walker b 1874 Barrow in Furness no other children with her :(

Hi Amanda,
You're not mentioning at all, the middle child of William & Mary , Mary Bruce WALKER born 1868, even though she's there on Family search and there in the 1871 Census? She may hold keys as to what became of her parents and why you (we) can't find them in 1881.
The 1886 marriage Maureen found, in fuller detail:

Wellington SCHOLFIELD, age 24
Both of Heckmondwicke
Brides: Father William, Mariner
Witness: Walliam WALKER (the other witness was a Scholefield)
That marriage is I'd say, pretty much certain to be 'your' Mary (later census show she was born Aberdeen). It's in the right area of Yorkshire (where her 2 siblings are marrying in). In which case, the witness at Mary's wedding, William WALKER, is likely to be her father. He has signed his name in large, bold, writing though not terribly 'literate' looking. If that signature could be compared to that which may be on the marriage of William WALKER & Mary BRUCE, and there is a match....

Census In 1891,
Wellington SCHOEFIELD & wife Mary are in hamlet of Norristhorpe Lane, Liversedge, Yorkshire, with their 1 yr old daughter, Mary. Wife Mary is 23, born (abt 1868), Aberdeen Scotland

Liversedge is in the Dewsbury Registration District.

Alexandrina age 35 born Aberdeen Scotland

Oswald Henry Wood b 1891 Leeds age 9
Alexander Fred Wood b 1893 Leeds age 8 ( Army Records for this Alexander )
Tom Wood b 1895 age 6
Richard Westrope Wood b 1897 age 4
Jane Elizabeth Hamp b 1879 age 22 ( Freds sister )
They also have a Alexanderina and a Dorothy :)

Hi,
Is the name Jabez - Jonathan? It showing Jonathan born Dewsbury with the same family details given on Archives site on Family Trees) with a wife Mary? But on 1881 Census showing Fred Wood with Jabez Wood (father)with Hannah address given Cliff St Dewsbury. Fred Wood - Occupation Woollen Beamer).
