Title: Completed: Amy Whitcombe
Post by: Dannemois on Thursday 29 January 15 18:39 GMT (UK)
Can someone please help find details on Amy Laura Whitcombe.  I have offered to help a friend research his relation who had enrolled in the Queen Mary’s Auxciliary Corps during WW1.  Her records state her rank as ‘worker’ at the S.C. Convalescent Hospital at Plymouth and she died 3 Nov 1918 aged 24.  Amy’s parents are listed as Edward Charles & Emma Whitecombe of 17 Alexandra Road, Hengoed, Glamorgan.  Her birthplace is given as Herefordshire.  Using FindMyPast, the only thing that comes up is her WW1 service details.  I would greatly appreciate if someone could please do a look-up on the 1901.

Thanks

Hi Deirdre
It would appear from Patrick Quinn's (adopted son) army details on CWGC Charles was still alive in 1916 (Patrick killed 1 July 1916).

Hi Roy, it was only a good match on age and in Herefordshire, nothing to confirm.

I hadn't found him in 1901😄

I have tried every combination using asterisks, I've put RG09/3984/25/5 in Record Collection with 1861 census in the Record Set but still I can not find them.  It has got to be me so can you please explain what I am doing wrong.
