Title: James and Anne Burial in Oldham
Post by: gnorman on Sunday 22 March 15 21:32 GMT (UK)
Hi everyone, on some of my older notes I found the following details for two married ancestors (I don't have copies of the documents)

James Winterbottom - (born 1784)
Baptism Record
Born 1784 (?), Baptised 31st May 1789 (aged 5 years), Baptised in Shaw

Ann Lees  - (born 1791)
Baptism Record
Born 1791 in Saddleworth Yorshire,

They appear on the 1851 Census;
1851 Census
Address: Springhill, Waterhead, Oldham
Name: James Winterbottom      Born: Saddleworth   Relation: Head
Occupation: Waste Dealer      Age: 67 years
Name: Ann Winterbottom      Born: Saddleworth   Relation: Wife
Occupation: NOT GIVEN      Age: 60 years
Name: Edward Lees         Born: Saddleworth   Relation: Brother in law
Occupation: Cotton Warehouse man   Age: 64 years

I have details of their children but am looking for any possible help to find their marriage or death records. I dont believe I have posted about this before and hope to make some headway on finding their fate.

Thanks, Luke

Thanks everyone, this is great stuff. I think Ann may have died in the first quarter of 1875 aged 85 yrs. The site you suggested rolnora doesn't have the burial listed so perhaps she's buried in a church yard? Have I got that right?

Hi Luke,

I have noticed that there is a photograph album up for sale on Ebay right now (4 days to go) which contains photos of a James Newton, Greenacres, a Charles Winterbottom & wife, a Mrs Lees and others. Could be related to your ancestors?  See Ebay: CDV & Photographs Album Many Named Including WWI India Photos.  I have no interest in this sale btw - I just googled some of the names out of curiosity and your post and associated replies came up.

Cheers,  Simon
