Hi,
Through some great research started by another's family tree, I have been able to get back to James Hope father of:
James Hope Christening Aug 20 1732 Peebles, Peebles, Scotland
Issobell AKA Isabel Christening Jun 30 1734 Peebles, Peebles, Scotland
Alexander Hope Christening Jan 11 1736 Peebles, Peebles, Scotland
Elisbeth Hope Christening Nov 12 1738 Peebles, Peebles, Scotland
I thought I would then seek out his marriage details.
I have come up with these possibles:
1.
James Hope
mentioned in the record of James Hope and Maitland Lettie
Name James Hope
Spouse's Name Maitland Lettie
Event Date 09 Jan 1728
Event Place Inveresk With Musselburgh,Midlothian,Scotland
or
James Hope
mentioned in the record of James Hope and Agnes Grinlaw
Name James Hope
Spouse's Name Agnes Grinlaw
Event Date 09 Jun 1732
Event Place Longformacus,Berwick,Scotland
Question 1.
Is Midlothian closer to Peebles than Berwick?
2. IS one of these liekly to be the marriage of my James Hope?
3. Has anyone done this tree/family line?
Thanks

Hi
Are you sure there were no more children ?
Familysearch shows two later baptisms with mothers names given
Kathren Hope bp. 20 January 1745 Peebles. PArents: James HOPE and Christian TURNBULL
and a James bp. 25 September 1743 Peebles. Parents: James HOPE and Elizabeth SALTON
EDIT: can rule out Christian Turnbull, she married 1743

This is what threw me off:

Indexing Project (Batch) Number: M11768-6
