Hi
Are you sure she was actually born here?

You would not be allowed access to any possible records as the 100yr rule applies

The only way of knowing for sure if the person you seek has been adopted is to buy a copy of their birth certificate from the General Register Office. Adoptions are noted on the right hand side of the certificate but no further details are contained such as the new name and who the adoptive parents are/were. Unless she was adopted within the family, by a step-parent for example, her whole name is likely to have changed and unless you know that name are unlikely to get any further with your enquiries.
There is no way of linking an entry in the birth index to that with one in the GRO Adopted Children Index which lists all adoptions after 1927 unless you know both names but the index only includes the new name of the child and a reference number for ordering an adoption certifiate which shows the adoptive parents.
If you are a birth relative you could register with the GRO here
https://www.gov.uk/adoption-records/the-adoption-contact-register
in the hope that she may have done the same.
