A couple wed at Heilbron, OFS in 1910. I am satisfied with my data on the groom but not the lady. Assuming she was Scottish-born, as was the groom, searches of the ScotlandsPeople website resulted in literally hundreds of female with her maiden name born throughout Scotland between 1880 and 1892. Lacking detail to refine my search, further action was/is uneconomical.
Hopefully, in South African Marrage Certificates of 1910, the Date/Place of Birth and Parents' names of both parties were recorded.
As three email enquiries to the Cory Library in the Cape have gone unanswered, perhaps a fellow subscriber could advise which details were recorded on Marriage Certificates of the era?

I've got a 1907 marriage entry (Natal) - Duplicate Original Entry as heading - and there are very few details
Date
Name and Surname
Age
Condition - bachelor etc.
Rank or Profession
Residence
Banns or Licence
Consent

If you post their names, if that's possible, someone may be able to help.
The information varies depending in the Church they were married in.
Looking at marriage certs from around that time in the Free State there is not much info on them other than the bride and grooms.....

I've only got Natal marriages - 1945 has an additional area for "Race"

Had a look at some of the un-indexed ones that are online from the Free State....

As per 3sillydogs request and further to my inquiry:
On 12 Sept 1910 at Wesleyan Church, Heilbron, Archibald WORKMAN (b. circa 1885, Scotland d. Jan 1914, Heilbron) married Annie Murray McEWAN (b. Unknown).
If the lady's age, but not her Date/Place of Birth and parents, only was recorded on the Marriage Certificate, it MAY help identify her and her family in the Orange Free State 1880 and/or 1890 Censuses.
Further to immediately above re Censuses, I have located the following:
