Hi KGarrad,
I have a little book with the address inside the cover, and the very faint name William.  I don't know if William is a first name or a surname, and as I have MANY, MANY Williams in my tree I don't know which one it could be, but.........

Hi Kay99,  with your help it looks as if I may be getting somewhere.

Thank you so much  :D

From newspaper mentions it was a dwelling house and grocer's shop with a licence to sell beer off the premises.

The licence transferred from William Smith to Elizabeth Chapman in 1883.
