Hello I am hoping someone can provide a photo or really any infomation about Nant Bran Farm. The Pranch family lived there from about 1730 to 1850. William Pranch seems to change his name to Branch about this time. I have wills for 1780, 1812, 1813. Margaret Pranch married Jenkins Morgan in 1806 and her father Edward Pranch left the will dated 1812. The Pranch name is mentioned in a short history of St Lythan parish as a "name of distinction" but no details.
Thank you for your interest reading this post LizR

Yes I am sure it is still there. Have seen photo of Nant bran cottage on real estate listing. the main farm was listed a few years ago but photos are not accessible anymore. Dyffryn House was rebuilt in the 1890's. Edward Pranch died 1812 was a younger son and was baileff to Colonal Rous at Cwrt yr ala. Looking for images of the baileff house.

Hi Liz, I am also tracing my Pranch ancestry from St Lythans, my 4xgt grandfather Edward Pranch bapt 1764 St Lythans, son of Edward Pranch and Elizabeth Rees, married 2nd to Hannah Gratrex 1797 Michaelston-le-Pit and died about 1813, then to their daughter Elizabeth Branch bapt 31 Aug 1800 Michaelston-le-Pit who married John Harding. Do you know any more about Edward and Hannah ? Regards, Wayne

PS My Edward Branch was a land steward of Drope Farm, according to his daughter Elizabeths marriage certificate.

Hello cousin, I am descended from Margaret Pranch, sister to your Edward. I have googled Gratex trees with some success. Can you get a copy of that St Lythan History? Also find my post about the Wrenche name and variations. I think that book would be invaluble.
Margaret's father Edward died 1812 was the baileff at Cwrt y Ala estate of Colonel Rous. The house has been rebuilt in the 1890's but the Baileff house might be intact. No online access for more photos. Are you in the UK? I am researching from the Pacific coast of Washington State. Please stay in touch. LIzR

Hi Cousin, We are in Gisborne, Vic, Australia, and my email is barratay - at - bigpond.net.au
We went to Seattle in 2016, between seeing the canyons around Las Vegas and up to Yellowstone, then up to Alaska. You are blessed with nature.
Thanks for the tips. I will see what I can find on the web. It looks like Bob Sanders at St Fagans has Pranch ancestry too. I need to figure out who's who in that family of Elizabeth b1800 and her parents and then back further. It's interesting about the farm. Thanks, Wayne
