A few more clues will help - date/place of birth, family info?

A medal card for that name is here http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D2825631 downloadable for £3.45  Commissioned on 6 July 1915 (London Gazette). Had previously served in the 5th Battalion Territorial Force in 1911. Served in the 1st Battalion Royal West Kents and 3rd Battalion.  Went overseas on 1 August 1916.

Appears to have been commissioned in WW2 in the Royal Army Pay Corps in July 1940 (London Gazette) but records will be with MOD as advised elsewhere and may include his first war record..

There are a number of war diaries covering the 1st Bn RWK Great War (pick out 1 Battalion from this list http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/results/r?_aq=1%20battalion%20Royal%20West%20kent&_cr=WO%2095&_dss=range&_ro=any&_st=adv

The first mention of him is on 5 September 1916 when he was wounded during an operation in the trenches at Guillemont.  As an officer he would no doubt be mentioned again so an investment in the diaries may be of interest.
