My 5x great grandmother was a Mary SEKINS or SEEKINGS who married William SMITH on 25 Feb 1827 in Whittlesey.
She died in November 1839 and her age at death was given as 40 years, putting her estimated year of birth as 1799.
I've looked through Whittlesey and other Cambridgeshire parish records but haven't found a matching baptism record there.
I have found a baptism in Farcet, Huntingdonshire, which isn't far away, for 1801.
I'm looking for anyone else who is researching Seekings in Cambridgeshire to make sure that I've covered all bases.

Age 28 on marriage. Might she have been a widow? Have you seen the marriage entry?

I've seen two different transcriptions that say she was a spinster.

Can you find any more about the Farcet girl, in order to rule her out, or to add circumstantial evidence that she might be the right one?
Eg - can you find a marriage for her, find her on later censuses? Who are her siblings - do any tie up with the witnesses at your Mary's marriage, or turn up living with your Mary on a later census etc etc.
I haven't checked with a map, but my memories of that area were that Whittlesey and Farcet were very close.

I've discovered that her mother seems to have died either in childbirth or shortly after this Mary was born, but I've found no marriage records in Farcet on FreeReg (which probably isn't complete).

I live in Farcet and the Whittlesey skyline is viewable from my bedroom window! :)

William and Elizabeth seemed to also christen:
Ann 18 March 1787
Sarah 22 Nov 1789
Both in Farcet (under Seakings on Familysearch)
Sere either of the witnesses at your Mary's marriage either an Ann someone or a Sarah someone, and can their marriage be traced back to them being a Seekings (however spelt) and then found on a census to confirm age?

No witnesses on either of the transcriptions I have, seems that viewing the original is in order.
I have found a possible marriage for Ann to John Taylor in Farcet, but I'm not seeing her in any of the censuses.
