Can anyone find the 1841 and 1851 census for Lydia Charlotte Ann Willis?
She was born 1833, baptised at St Ann Blackfriars in City of London, abode listed as Hampton. Parents are Charles and Mary Willis.
As far as I know she is the only child.
She married Abraham Stannard in 1852 in Bethnal Green.
I am struggling with finding any information on her parents, or any possible siblings, so these censuses could help.

I think this will be her but relationships not shown in 1841
1841 654/21/50
Tottenham
James Bilton 25 yrs
Mary Bitton 30 yrs
Mary Harris 90 yrs
Mary Willis 6 yrs
Lydia Willis 7 yrs
William Aron 25 yrs
Looking at the census, I think Mary Harris could be 70 yrs.
I saw a marriage for a Charles Willis to Mary Harris earlier - 15th November 1832 St Mary Hampton.
-
Father is a gardener per the marriage and one of the witnesses is Mary Willis which might help.
-
Thanks for the census and marriage information, I will take a look.
-
There is a marriage 1838 St Leonard's Shoreditch for a Mary Willis and James Bilton - :-\
-
Thanks for the marriage info heywood, I think Charles Willis may have died young, and Mary remarried. And the Mary Harris in the census could be her mother?
-
1851 1537 /441/8
James Bilton 38 yrs
Mary Bilton 40 yrs
Lydia Bilton 17 yrs born Hampton, Surrey
Mary Bilton 16 yrs
James Bilton 6 yrs
Charles Taylor 19 yrs
-
And the Mary Harris in the census could be her mother?
Not if she is really 90 :o
-
There is that, but I agree, it could possibly be 70 years instead of 90
I am definite these are the right censuses though. Lydia on the 1851 census is listed as being born in Hampton, which is correct.
-
She may have been her grandmother ;)
I think you are on the right track and that Charles died young.
-
I think that Mary Bilton is Mary Harris Willis and more than likely Mary Harris 70 yrs is her mother - grandmother to Lydia and presumably her sister - also Mary.
-
I think so too - I have yet to find a birth/baptsim for Mary Willis.

The intriguing thing is that in 1861 James appears to be in Stepney with a Sophia/e b Buckinghamshire c1818. he's the same age as James in 1841/51 and born Cambridgeshire. There are three children, all born in Ratcliff - Josiah b c1849 [indexed as Jonah on Ancestry], John b c1851 and Eliza b c 1856. This are all on the GRO records, with mmn Hone, along with William James b Stepney 1842 and Jane Catherine b Stepney 1847
I'm was wondering if Mary's maiden name was Hone and she died between 1856 and 1861, until I found baptisms for the children with parents James and Sophia. there's a possible marriage in 1839, but her surname is Owen
confused!
