Have a marriage dated 1805 between Thomas Chestle and Amy Cobden in Pagham. Would it give the names of the parents and ages of the bridal couple?

polly,
At that time, no ages were given in the register, nor were parents' names. It should tell you if either one of the pair came from a different parish, whether they were single. Provided neither of them had told fibs, you can assume that they were both of age (i.e. 21): if they were considered minors, then strictly they need the consent of their parents and this should be shown. A father might be a witness but he would not be identified as such. I have checked the Sussex marriage Index and it gives her name as Emily, so two possibilities to look for.

Hi Nell: Thanks for the information. I had looked at one of the films it was on. She was born in Pagham and both were of age. On the film I had she tried to sign her name as Amy. Thomas only had an X.
