I'm looking to find out where Samuel Young died and maybe apply for his death certificate.
He was born to parents John and Janet Young in Prestwich in 1905.
He then married Mary Owen in Manchester 1927.
I believe they had 3 daughters.

Thank you Rosie. This is why it's always worth re-checking info. His date on marriage certificate does actually suggest he was in fact born in 1906.
:-)

I posted the birth date as sometimes it is mentioned on the death registration but I can't see it. I think he may be on the prewar register born 1908 so he may have a wrong year at death depending on when the informant thought he was born ::)

And why I've had little luck. I do have possible marriages of one of his daughters. I think I may have to send away for their marriage certificates and hope he is still alive and named on them. May be a long, costly process.... :-(

Marriage certificates are not a reliable source regarding 'dead' fathers, the question is not routinely asked by the clergy.
Just eliminating
Samuel Young
BIRTH: abt 1906
DEATH: Dec 1963 - Leigh, Lancashire, England
Probate for this one was to Ada Young widow

I'm just looking through some things, but I can't find Ada Young. It's possible thought hat he may have married twice?
He definitely married Mary Owen in 1927. The address and fathers name on the marriage certificate confirms this.

Wonder if Stockport and Crewe were military areas?
I've not come across the match with Mary Young.
Where is Manchester CB?
-
Manchester CB (County Borough) was the enumeration district

A bit of trial and error with the three daughters names should tell you which daughter had died before they stopped updating the register, and which two are possibly still alive
