Hi Everyone
Looking for David Green (born 1825, Lochmaben, Scotland, died Fitzroy, Victoria in 1897) who went to Australia before 1860. His elder son, Joseph Green was born around 1860 and died in Fitzroy, Victoria in 1920. David Green married Sarah Ann Saunders in Castlemaine in 1861.Younger son Robert was born there in 1862. Not sure if Sarah was mother to both boys but they both predeceased her as her will names her grandchildren as beneficiaries. At the time of David Greens death(1897) his son Robert was living in Townsville, Queensland and working as a builder.
Any information about this family would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for that information Jamjar,
Just wondering what happened to Robert Green born 1862, disappeared after 1897 when his father died. Have managed to follow elder son joseph and his family through documentation and archives online. Do not know where to start with Robert.
Also when and how did David Green come to Australia?.............. I know by ship!!
Regards
Lesley

Did he come out alone?

I checked for any Robert Green death in 1901 on QLDBDM and there is only the one. Therefore, the notice re cause of death is most likely the correct one.

Was Joseph's wife Charlotte Trottman Binstead? If so she died only 3 days after Joseph. :'(

Do you have marriage and death for Ivy Dorothy?
-
Jamjar you are a 🌟. Can't thank you enough. You certainly have been busy on my behalf. Just adds a little more to the puzzle. Ivy Dorothy married Kenneth Timms as far as I know. Yes his wife was Charlotte Binstead. Sorry not to have been in touch sooner but have been away for a few days.
Thanks again for all this information.
