Found an ancestor in 1851 census. Under occupation it says "funded property". What does this mean?
Did she own property? not sure

Are you sure it didn't say "Landed Proprietor"?
Which would mean that she owned property.

On the 1851 Census there were 405 individuals with the occupation "funded property". In 1861 down to 230.
