A mystery on these two family members, Have not been able to find anything on there two gentlemen..
Remembered on a family memorial Stone in Kirkcolm Cemetery
MI states the following
Captain William Shaw Drowned at Sand heads Calcutta 5th October 1864 age 34..
Captain Thomas Shaw died at Montevideo 29 January 1869 age 37 years old
If anyone has any info on these two folk I would be grateful

There's a death announcement for Capt Thomas Shaw in the Liverpool Mercury of 13 March 1869. He was "of the screw steamer Scottare".

Thomas Shaw is on the 1861 census as 1st mate on board the Assaye. Aged 27, unmarried, born Kirkcolm, Galloway.
