Title: 1881 census for Bron y Nant Dwygyfylcki
Post by: malijibic on Sunday 04 March 18 17:26 GMT (UK)
I have here a 1893 bc showing "where born" as Bron Y Nant, Dwygyfylchi, Penmaenmawr County of Carnarvon.
Thought that it would be an easy task to find the 1891 census entry for Bron y Nant.  Hours later having drawn a blank with findmypast census search for address and trawling through the Penmaenmawr records, I am none the wiser.  Can anyone give me a nudge in the right direction please.
Thank you

the birth  certificate is for Jane Ellen Thomas, daughter of John Thomas and Elizabeth Thomas formerly Jones. Trying to find more about her parents, not having much luck so was hoping that I might find find some clue to go backwards.

That agrees with the 1911 and 1901 census results that I have. The place of birth for John Thomas  as Bethesda agrees with the 1901 results.  Have just realised that I have missed the  1891 census.
What a difference one letter can make, I was trying for Bron y Nant.
Many thanks

I assumed that the link given by rosie was the 1881 result, not 1891
To order my thoughts I have
1911 census for
John Thamas    59
Elizabeth Thamas    44
Jane Ellen Thamas    18
Edward Richard Thamas    17
May Elizabeth Thamas    9 at Glyn terr Capelulo

1901 census for
John Thomas    49
Elizabeth Thomas    34
Andrew Thomas    13
Jane E Thomas    8
Edward R Thomas    7

  1891 census for
John Thomas   37
Elizabeth Thomas    24
Andrew Thomas    3
Edward John Thomas 3months

1911 census shows that 5 children born, 1 had died.  Am I correct in assuming that the name Edward had been used twice and that Edward John was the one which had died?

Caernafon Boroughs absent voters list (Autumn 1918) has Edward Richard Thomas, 9 Glyn Terrace as Pte 35182 in South Wales Borderers. No apparent records that I can see at a quick look other than the Medal Index Card and the Medal Roll.

Thank you for that extra piece of information.
I am trying to help my nephew discover his father's family and it is such information that brings the story to life.
