Title: Anna Kettle
Post by: Jockwatt on Monday 19 March 18 04:39 GMT (UK)
"My" Anna Kettle, baptised about February 1705 in Muthill, Perthshire to Thomas Kettle and Lilias Raitt, I believe went on to marry William Baxter in November 1741.

My question is - where/when did Thomas marry Lilias?

I will be most grateful for any information or advice - Jock.  ;D

Yes, Don, I use Scotlands people a lot, but I need to know WHERE to access the will that Snowolf has mentioned!

log in to SP then click on tab 'search our records'.
There are 5 options.
Click on 'legal records' then 'wills & testaments'.
Fill in the subject and you get this:
Raitt Lilias   8/6/1737
spouse to Thomas Ketle at Miln of Muir, parish of Aberdargie
Testament Dative and Inventory
St Andrews Commissary Court
CC20/6/16

Here is how I accessed the link that Snowolf mentioned.

1. Log in to your Scotlands People account.
2. Click on Advanced People Search
3. Click on Legal Records Wills & Testaments.
4. Under name enter Lilias Raitt
5. Enter date of 1737
6. Leave the search at all

It now brings up the will mentioned ref CC20/6/1737

I apologise if this sounds a bit like an "idiots guide" it is not meant to  :) It is just how I found it.

Good Luck and hope the will helps you

Dorrie

Thank you very much to all who contributed here, but I'm now going to be very cheeky in asking if there is anyone who can translate the attachment?
