Hi,
Can any one make out this birth certificate for me please? I've been trying to reread it for a while but the handwriting is just so twirly and fancy and i really can't understand the majority of it.
Help would most definitely be appreciated,
thank you.
Lauren :)

Presumably you know the surname is Napier. Elizabeth Jean? Not sure of the time bit but born August 14th Sinclair Street, Dunblane. Father Alexander, blacksmith and mother Jane, maiden surname Forrest. Married 1925 May 2nd Glasgow. Informant Alex Napier. Registered in Dunblane but I cannot make out the word after that.

Registered in Dunblane but I cannot make out the word after that.
In the heading it's Dunblane & Lecropt, which is the full name of the parish. In the When & Where Registered box it's the Assistant Registrar's signature, but I can't make it out.

thank you very much for the help! i've saved all the details now. Is Napier quite a difficult name to search for? As i'm trying to search for the marriage certificate online now, but i'm hitting a brick wall! Thanks again :)

Hello Maureen! How did you find that? It's taken me hours and I've not found anything haha.. thank you so much. How come there's another one under the name herd? Thank you very much again :)

:) :)
They will be the same certificate. Looks like a step-father's surname for her.

Or could it be that she'd been married before - born Forrest, previously married a Mr Herd, now marrying Alexander Napier?
However, I haven't had much to do with 20th century Scottish certificates, so I don't know if this is how it would be done.

It looks like A S Waddell or maybe Waddier, though the initials under the printed word Registrar appear to be JCW ???

Since the person who signed it was the Assistant Registrar, maybe it was counter-signed/initialled by his/her boss.
