I’m trying to find as much information as I can about my great aunt. She had a very sad life and as far as I know, never married or had children. She dies in parkside mental asylum in Macclesfield in 1978, she was admitted in 1975.
she was called Edith Doreen Lloyd b.1911 and was from Widnes.
Nobody in the family has any photos of her and although I know where she is buried she has no gravestone.
If anyone could help I’d very much appreciate it. I just want her to be remembered in some way.
I’d like a copy of her death certificate but I don’t know the code to order it.
Many thanks

Hi Tracy,
Where does the date of Edith's death come from as I can't see one in 1978? There is one in 1980, Macclesfied but she was born in 1908. ???

Thank you SO much everyone.
I’ve given up trying to find her records from the asylum. I was informed that all records after 1960 were lost ☹️ So we will never know why she was put in there, what they diagnosed her with. But at least I can order a copy of her death certificate now. Thank you again!! Very much appreciated! X

I managed to get her death certificate which confirms that she died at Parkside, but there’s an address on her death certificate too under ‘usual address’. She was admitted to Parkside in 1975 as far as I was aware so I was surprised to see an address outside of the hospital for her. I wonder if this is this normal? This flats were social housing and knocked down 10 years ago so it’s not like she owned the property.
Unfortunately Chester archives can’t help me as they only have records up to 1963 for Parkside hospital 😏
