If you have ancestors in the Wolverhampton area you may find this site of interest

From the parish registers for Bilston there is this entry
Sarah Brookes baptised 3 January 1796 illegitimate daughter of Maria

Great thanks Emeltom.
Is it likely that the Brookes name will be that of the father?
I will look at the Wolverhampton site.
All much appreciated.
