Roy Neville White is the only Australian who served in the Great War who is buried in Whitley Bay Cemetery.  An excellent account of his life and a photo of him can be found on the North East War Memorials Project website.

The information on the above link has been added to on the NEWMP website since the first post I made above.  So now there is an even fuller picture of Roy's background story.
