Hello.
My 5th great grandfather, James Basham married Ann Holget on 17 Oct 1815 at St Edmunds, Norwich, she is listed as a widow and I'm struggling to find a previous marriage for her. I can't read the witnesses for this marriage.
I've come across a Hannah Garth, marrying a Robert Olget, 25 Mar 1810 at St James Pockthorpe, Norwich, but I can't find a death for either. The witnesses were Mary Ann Purland and Margaret Rook
Thanks in advance :)

Maybe someone with better imaging software than me can get a better result.
I read the witnesses as Wm ( ? ? ? ) and Jno Brand

1810 Marriage does look possible but I cant find a Burial for Robert 1810-1815 in Norfolk.
Its a shame Ann didnt live to 1851 Census to state her dob/pob.
I was hoping Maryann Murrell in 1841 Census may be a lead but I found on FreeREG she is likely the Daug of George Murrell/Sarah Basham who married 1837.

Sorry I probably should of added that! She died in 1859, and on the 1851 Census it states that she was born about 1786 in Norwich
She’s living with her granddaughter Eliza Murrell and a lodger, Mary Symonds aged 59 who is a widower

Thanks so not with James in 1851.
Will look around a bit more now :)

There is a Ann Garth Baptised 7 May 1786 Norwich to Henry/Elizabeth but still proving she is the Widow who married James Basham is still hard.
-
I also tried Holgate/Holget etc with no luck in finding a burial for Robert ::)

James Basham is in the Infirmary at St Clements age 69 of St Edmunds in the 1851 census.
He was buried 14 September 1851 at St Edmunds Churchyard Norwich age 70

There's a burial at St Paul, Norwich, might be a possibility
31 May 1813
Robert Algate
age 36
abode St Edmunds Norwich

FindMyPast has 2 images of the 1815 marriage. The Bishop's Transcript is a slightly better image but the witness signatures still so difficult to read - Wm Bell**? Jno Board?

Thank you all.
I highly suspect (and hope!) that the Robert Algate burial is correct, I couldn't find a burial for a Hannah Olget (or similar) so I suspect she is my Ann.
Now onto whether they had any children :)
Thank you again

Good work jonw65 with finding that burial :)

Thanks, Trish!
It's looking promising for your Ann Garth 1786.
